Justification: The technology necessary to produce these parts was available almost exclusively in Europe which caused there to be consistent cost (currency exchange and the cost of shipping) and lead time issues. Because of these issues, it presented CSP with an opportunity to participate in the project if we could find a way to develop the technology domestically. By producing blanks overseas (to reduce material and labor cost), and fine machining the parts domestically, CSP was able to achieve the technology, price and quality to make this project a success.
